Justin joined Owner and Founder Ron McGehee in the Winter of 2021 to help establish streamline operations and build a team of exceptional leaders. His experience in leading corporate and independent teams has prepared him for the unique opportunities at Monument Entertainment. Justin has served as General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Retail Manager, Beverage Manager, and Catering Manager during his career. Prior to joining the Monument Entertainment Team Justin completed his Project Manager Certification at Liberty University. Most of Justin’s leadership positions have been focused on the expansion of independent craft beer brands such as Dogfish Head and Heavy Seas. As a passion project, Justin spent multiple years active in the Mid-Atlantic Music scene. He worked in promotion, performance, and booking roles. Justin spends as much time as possible with his family in Bristow, VA. During the fall months, he frequents his homeplace in Eastern Tennessee and Southwestern Virginia. When Justin is not concentrating on operations, he is continuing his education in the fields of law and public policy. “What we are selling is invisible. Chryssi entered The Monument Entertainment Organization in 2022 with 18 years of hospitality experience. Her decade of event management expertise includes additional support roles in front-of-house management, bar management, and event management. Chrissy is a native of Northern Virginia who recently relocated to the Shenandoah Valley. A self-taught Graphic Designer and painter, Chryssi contributes to the Monument Team in a variety of ways. As a member of the Shen Arts Program Chryssi is dedicated to growing the local arts community. Channeling her perspective as a visual artist she curates a variety of settings to enhance the guest experience. Chryssi shares her passion for sustainable living with her children by teaching them her homesteading and agriculture techniques. “The prospect of engaging in numerous creative projects offers me a way to explore a variety of mediums to tell the story of our guests.”- Chryssi Elfstrom
Chef Chris is a native of Washington D.C. who joined the Monument Entertainment team in 2022. Chris brings over 20 years of culinary experience and international influence with him to the Monument leadership team. Chris enables his team to work in a fun, high-energy environment by using music and comedy as a conduit for teamwork. Chef’s experiences come from serving as Sous Chef for Executive Chef Todd Gray, at Equinox, opening Kusina De Luz in Carcar City PI, studying Business at Virginia Tech, and applying classical French cooking techniques to Western Cuisine. Culinary Arts is a form of expression for Chris. As an active member and contributor to the Warren County Humane Society, he is committed to supporting local animal rescue efforts. An appealing factor in Chris’s decision to join the Monument Entertainment team was his passion for independent music. “If you’re not having fun in this business, you are doing it all wrong.”-Chris Kenworthy
Amy joined Monument Entertainment in August 2021 and brings over ten years of marketing experience with her and has a background in performing arts. Amy is originally from the UK and has spent years past living in Europe, including working on marketing events in Ibiza, Ayia Napa, and London. Amy is passionate about spreading the every day energy, creativity, and relevance that the Monument brand brings to this area and beyond. In her spare time, Amy enjoys present and quality time with her family and spends time in Maine at least once a year. “For me, marketing isn’t about speaking to people en masse, it’s about speaking to a single human at any given time, and offering them a unique experience”.
Leila was born and raised in Winchester, VA, and joined Monument Entertainment in June 2021. Leila has a strong experience in the hospitality industry with over nine years of hosting, serving, bartending, and more. At one point in her career, the owner and founder of Monument Entertainment was one of her regulars! Leila brings a strong, outgoing, and spunky leadership style to the team at Ellie’s and beyond. In her time off, Leila enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. Leila is very enthusiastic about the future of Monument Entertainment. “One of my favorite things about working here is watching our ideas come to life!”
Born and raised in Appalachia, Josh Huff currently resides in a spooky old house in Martinsburg with his equally spooky wife and daughter.
Josh has over a decade of experience in the DC area music scene. From playing in numerous bands, tour management, band management, venue management, to booking;
Josh has facilitated over 1,000+ shows, ranging from intimate private events to 2,000+ capacity shows and festivals.
He has a personal affinity for metal, bluegrass, and country, but a diverse history of shows ranging from Cover bands, to Comedy, to Drag. If it’s worth booking, he’s booked it.
Josh joined The Monument in 2022, immediately seeing the vast potential, recognizing the attention to detail, and amazing facilities it has to offer the patrons of Winchester and the greater DC area.
Alisdair joined The Monument in 2022 as an Audio and Production Engineer.
Prior to The Monument, Alisdair was a FOH Engineer at The Bright Box. During his tenure at The Bright Box, he worked with a large variety of artists including national acts all across the Tri-state area. Alisdair is also a talented musician with a background in Jazz, Mathcore, and Metalcore music.
Alisdair is a graduate of Full Sail University, where he majored in Music Production. Alisdair currently lives in Martinsburg WV. When he isn’t busy he usually spends his free time in the recording studio and going on adventures with his dog.
